Isekai Ass-Guardian, episode 9
My god, they committed storytelling. It’s been such a speedrun up to this point that I didn’t expect them to spend the first half of the episode coaxing Our Mighty Twintail’s anxious motivation out of her. With a bit of accompanying silliness to round out the characters a bit.
Then Our Rump Protector befriends a very Al-Elric-like animated suit of armor and a legal-loli elf, proposes to a group of harpies, and stares way up at the biggest titties he’s ever seen, all for a bit more storytelling and world-building.
Verdict: much better than usual for this show. Pity that actually tackling Elitia’s quest would be at least two more seasons worth of material that the manga hasn’t gotten anywhere near. But at least Our Best Lizard Gal holds onto pole position.

Skeleton Knight 2, episode 9
The plot is stir-fried and thickened, with a monster-baiting villain, Princess B-Plot, and Cardinal Sin making appearances to break up the usual silliness.
Verdict: okay, I see where they’re going to end this season. That should work.

- Enchanted Backsies Slow Life - no. This sounds exactly like the other one above, except that instead of switching to the revenge-fuck genre, he switches to slow-life adventure.
- The World’s Strongest Witch - I was going to try one episode, just to see if she was exposed to the dark side of Internet, but then I watched the trailer and heard her voice. And the shouting. no, no, no.
