The Death of the Fist
As L5R fans are now finding out, Matsu Gohei has been murdered by the gaijin "Senpet" people of the the Burning Sands. The following is flavor text from the Legend of the Burning Sands card, "Death of a Butcher:"
"Gohei did not have to look far to see others held just as he was. The blood of each spilled into a brazier below, to return as thick vapour that dried the body and shriveled the organs. The Senpet were quite proud of their keen sense of justice."In addition, the gaijin al Hazaad returned Gohei's daisho to the Lion, as the following flavor text from "Gohei's Daisho" tells:"Al Hazaad smiled. 'His bravery will be remembered. He died with much honor.' The lie was barely noticeable, and after all, it was what the Lion wished to hear."The players of the Lion Clan do not accept these lies, nor will we allow the cowardly murder of one of our heroes to go unpunished! The kami have said the Scorpion can return, but they have not said anything about bringing gaijin dogs to our land. The Scorpion have brought one of these Senpet murderers back with them-- the gaijin Abresax. Our revenge shall be his destruction! We want every Lion to play with three copies of the card "Test of Honor," and to use this card to destroy Abresax at every opportunity. A miserable gaijin with little honor, Abresax dies easily to such a Test that a hero as honorable as Gohei would easily have passed. We encourage this _especially_ at storyline tournaments where Abresax is a legal card, so that Lions can demonstrate to the story designers our indignation at Gohei's cowardly murder and our fury with the Senpet and the gaijin dogs of the Burning Sands.
I am keeping a list of the Lion players who have destroyed Abresax in such a manner. These venerable heroes may be found below.
"You're in OUR world now, Abresax. A world where Honor is more powerful than steel!"
